Friday Favorites

Woohoo! It's Friday again!

Life has been so crazy lately for us. More on that later when I can share what's been happening.

For now I'm going to share my favorite pics over the last few weeks.

Happy birthday...
Last weekend we had a small party for my sister in law, Steph. Y'all have no idea how much I depend on this girl. She loves my kids so very much and is always willing to drop whatever she's doing to hang out with them for me.

Best friends...
Oh Hayden and Angel. He loves her so much. Anywhere she goes he follows. I found them like this in the bathroom last week.

Pop...
I took this picture of my dad and Brody at the wedding Sunday. My dad is so in love with his grandkids. Both my parents are great but my dad just has this bond with them. My mom knows it too!

Mutt n Stuff...
Hayden is obsessed with this show! It's got dogs, music and a school bus on it. Pretty much his favorite things in the world right now. He makes himself comfy on the couch and would watch it all day if I would let him (which I don't!)

Zoo day...
Wednesday Landry's class went to the zoo and I tagged along. Her group that I chaperoned were her bff's. They were all so cute.

My little man...
We walked Landry to her friends house this week so it was Hayden and I on the way back and he wanted to hold my hand. He's just the best kid!

Happy weekend!

Family time

This past Sunday we had a friends wedding to go to. It was at a really cool place in Dallas. The same event space Dani and Bobby had their reception at. I knew since we would be out later and it was a school night that we wouldn't be taking Landry and Hayden.

Dani decided to bring Brody and I was so excited to get my hands on him. I love these three people. Dani and Bobby are such good parents.

Oh this boy. I know I'm biased but I have the cutest nephew ever.

It's rare that Tim holds a baby. He's just not comfortable with them and I totally get that. Even after being a father he's still leary of holding babies. But Brody loves him. It's so cute to see them together!

I absolutely love being an aunt!

Then it was time for the family photo. This was the only time I hated that my two weren't there. It's rare we get everyone in the photo. But that's ok.

Family time is the best! I am so lucky to call these people my family.

Galveston weekend

So a few months ago my parents mentioned booking a little house in Galveston for a weekend. We happened to be free so I invited myself and the kids to go. Tim just got a new job and didn't think he could take off so it was just us five going.

I love Galveston. It's just far enough away to feel like a vacation and it has great food and plus, the beach!

We got Landry out of school early Friday and headed that way. Four hours later we arrived to one of our favorite houses to stay at. It's right across the street from the beach and has these big chairs to look right at the ocean at.

I was so excited to spend some time with my girl!

Saturday morning we got up and had coffee and breakfast and then headed out for the day. We planned to go on the dolphin tour. We've done this before but before kids so I was anxious to see how they liked it.

They ended up loving it. Both just sat watching the water and looking for the dolphins.

I love these three. My parents are so fun! They are always up for anything.

We got to see lots of dolphins. They would pop up every so often.

After the boat tour we headed to a new place for lunch. We tend to eat at the same restaurants there, but we noticed a new spot across from our house. It had this huge chair and the kids loved playing on it.

A boy and his Pop. He loves my dad so much!

After lunch we did something we never said we would. Landry had been begging us to ride those four person bikes you see all over. We kind of knew how it would go down, but we tried anyways.

Thirty minutes later we were all huffing and puffing and decided we had had enough!

We went back and all took a long nap! For dinner we went to one of our favorite places to eat. We sat outside and it was so nice. Sunday morning we headed down to the beach just to get our feet in and walk on the sand.
I love this picture I got. These are my babies. My little loves. They both love the beach and they might fight like cats and dogs but they sure do love each other!

Such a fun weekend spent with my people. It has me ready for summer to get here!

While Daddy's Away...

On Monday, Tim went to Nashville for a trade show for work. When he told me a while back that he'd be gone I started brainstorming of things the kids and I could do.

Landry is obsessed with Fuller House. She got it in her head that she wanted pancakes and chocolate milkshakes. I guess on one of the episodes this was done.

I thought that sounded like fun so Monday night I made them pancakes, bacon and chocolate milkshakes. While we ate we watched one of my favorite childhood movies, Holes. They loved it! Landry thought I was the coolest mom ever.

On Tuesday, Landry begged me to ride her bike at this great park we have by us. They have a great walking trail. So we loaded up her bike and his stroller and I packed a picnic and we headed to the park.

Again I was proclaimed as the coolest mom ever!

On Wednesday night Landry got invited with one of her besties to go to this great pizza place with bowling and laser tag. She was so excited. Since I knew she'd be gone I thought it was a great time to take my boy out. We did some shopping and then headed to one of our favorite places, Rosas.

Special one on one time with this boy is important to me. Landry had four years of me to herself so I really try and make an effort of this time with him.

Then daddy got home and we all rejoiced. It was only three days but we sure missed him!

10 Years

I set out on a narrow way, many years ago.

Hoping I would find true love along the broken road.

But I got lost a time or two

Wiped my brow and kept pushing through

I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars

Pointing me on my way

Into your loving arms. This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through

I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you

But you just smile and take my hand, you've been there you understand.

It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true, that God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

Now I'm just rolling home

Into my lovers arms

This much I know is true. That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

10 years ago I married my best friend. Being his wife is the best. I couldn't imagine a better husband and father for our family.

Marriage is hard. It takes work. But I wouldn't do it any different.

We've had joy and heartaches.

But through it all we've always known that God is the center of our marriage.

I can't wait to see where this next phase of our life takes us.
