Tim left for Minneapolis Sunday for a business trip and left his

girls all alone for a Bachelorette party!

We ordered pizza during the Super Bowl

Went out with Mimi and Pop

Had lots of cuddle time

Helped mommy cook and taste test dinner

Did the laundry

I loved having girl time with my favorite girl!

We sure missed Daddy though!

Landry turns 3

Today, my baby girl turns 3.

Landry is by far the best thing to ever happen to

Tim and I.

She is such a great addition to our family.

My favorite thing about her is her smile.

She lights up a room the minute she walks in.

This morning we woke up to donuts!

Daddy brought us some and got Landry a pink one with sprinkles.

We had her Birthday party this year at a place called

Jump for Fun.

It was by far the best decision to make.

They handled everything for us and I didn't have to lift a finger.

The kids had such a blast!

Even Charley came down fast!

Kent loved it too!

The girls that worked there set up the room so cute!

The only thing she has said as we have been talking about

Today is the last day my baby will be 2.

She took cookies to school today to pass out

to her friends in her class.

I thought she should dress the part since she is wearing

a handmade shirt to her party, she wore her shirt from last year.

After I picked her up from school we played
outside because it was so pleasant this afternoon.

For dinner, she got her favorite.

Chicken nuggets, french fries and yogurt!

It's crazy how much I love this girl!

Yeah, I'm back!
In my defense, I have hardly taken any pictures the last few weeks.

Life has been good.

We are less than 1 week away from having a 3 year old.

Did I really just say that?

Good grief.

I honestly cannot believe how three little years can go by so fast.

Here are just a few things that have happened since I blogged last.

Christmas with the Boozers

Yes, Christmas!

We didn't end up doing Christmas with them until 2 weeks after.

The Boozers are family to us and our kids are crazy about one another.

Birthday Dinner for Mike

Tim's dad's birthday is today and we celebrated

at our house last night with steak and lobster!

And cake!

We had such a good time.

I have known Mike since I was 17.

He has always been so much fun and loves me just like a daughter.

My parents came over too to celebrate

Do you see the fingerprints in the cake?

That would be from a certain 2 year old who wanted cake before

we were ready to eat it!

Birthday lunch for Grandaddy and Landry

Grandaddy's birthday was this week also and since his and Landry's is

so close together, we combined their's and did it for lunch today.

When I was a little girl one of my favorite memories was sitting in my

grandaddy's garage watching him, my dad and my uncle fry fish.

Landry has her own little chair and table there

and today she got a balloon on it

It's Birthday week for our girl!

New Years Eve and New School

Happy 2012!

Tim and I went on a date New Years Eve.

It was lovely.

Love this man.

We discovered this is our 13th New Years spent together.

Tuesday Landry started her new school.

I had the day off so I took her from 8-2.

I prayed so hard the night before for her to adjust well.

She did awesome.

She walked right in with her backpack on, turned around and gave

me kisses and said "bye mommy".

Melt my heart.

I love this kid.

Plus, having the day off was a nice change of pace.

I got so much done.

I couldn't wait to go pick her up at 2 though.

They said she did so good and had no problems.

When we got home, it was so nice outside

that we went for a walk.

When we got back on our street I let her walk her babies

in the wagon.

She is one month away from turning 3.

Well, 2011 has come to a close.

As I look back on all that we have done this year

I realize that we have had a wonderful year.

January

We took the crib away and Landry officially became a big girl!

February

Landry turned 2!

March

The weather started getting nicer and Landry

discovered her love for a trampoline

April

Tim and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by going

on a cruise and swimming with the dolphins

May

Landry started gymnastics and loved it

And I went to Chicago for work

June

Landry completed another summer of swim lessons

and we swam a lot after that

And I took Dani to Phoenix for her Birthday

July

I turned 30 and celebrated with all my closest friends and family

August

Landry got a Bob

And we celebrated Dani at her Bachelorette Party

September

Dani and Bobby got married

October

We made our annual trip to the State Fair

And found our inner Wonder Woman

November

We visited the Happiest Place on Earth for the second time in Landry's life

December

We celebrated another wonderful Christmas season with our

friends and family.

So, what does 2012 bring for the Smith Family?

We have a few trips planned including Christmas at DisneyWorld and

a lot of other things in the works.

It should be a good year for us!

Or as Tim and I like to refer to it, 700 miles for 7 Christmases. Tim and I are blessed to be able to see all our family at Christmas. We love it, but we sure are tired by the end. I took over 200 pictures in 4 days if that tells you anything. Don't worry, I'm not posting all 200. I'm just going to post a few from each Christmas and where Choo-Choo ended up each day.

Thursday night we went out to look at Christmas lights

Friday we caught Choo-Choo hanging out in the Christmas tree

Just 2 more nights waiting on Santa!

Friday night we celebrated Christmas with my dad's family.

Landry really got into opening gifts this year

and helped everyone open their's.

She loves my grandparents puppies

and gives them kisses all the time

Her big gift this year from them was a car.

It has a wagon attached on the back so she can carry her babies too

Friday night we spent the night at Tim's parents

house and woke up Saturday morning to some fun stuff!

Look who flew to Memo and Bumpa's house!

They got Landry an easel and some fun toys

Helping everyone open their gifts

Christmas Eve we went to Tim's aunts house.

Landry got the cutest dog and named it Snowball

She also got a baby bed for her room

Christmas Eve when we got home we decided to put our

p.j's on and jump into bed and watch the Santa tracker

Christmas morning we woke up to some fun stuff from Santa

We went shopping a few days before Christmas so Landry

could get something for Tim.

As we were walking through Target she saw this thing that you

put on your dresser to organize your keys and wallet and had to have it for dada.

I realized through this whole month that my biggest blessing

of all is my family of three. That and the Lord who gave them to me.

There is a tree that Landry and I pass every morning and afternoon

on our way to and from work. She loves it. It's huge and at night it is

lit up and has a huge star on top. I tried to teach Landry this year that the star represents

Jesus and that he is the reason for the season. Everytime we passed it she would scream

out "baby Jesus". Adorable.

Choo-Choo hung around for a little bit Christmas morning

then flew back to the North Pole

Christmas afternoon we spent some time with Tim's grandmother

and opened some gifts from her and gave her our gifts to her

Christmas night we went to my parents house to do

Christmas with them.

My dad gets us gifts every year just from him and this year he

got Dani a Kindle and me a new bag and boots.

Landry had such an awesome Christmas this year and we got some

good things. Seeing Christmas through her eyes is so much

better than I could of imagined.

Tim turned 30 yesterday.

We celebrated by going out to a nice dinner at

Pappas Bros steakhouse. It was yummy.

Tim is definitely a blessing to me.

I have known him a long time.

He is the funniest person I know.

He brings joy to my life every day and I don't know

what I would do without him.

Tis the Season to be Jolly

We have been lazy thse last few days and I have loved it. I have loved spending my days with Landry and totally forgot to blog about my daily blessings.

On Sunday we had our first Christmas with my mom's side of the family. This was unusual for us this year, as it was a week before Christmas, but it was the only time all of us could find to be together.

My Aunt Karen just adopted a new dog and Landry loves her.

On Monday we set up a surprise for Landry from my

parents. If you didn't already know it, my daughter is obsessed

with trains. We found one that you can set up under the tree.

My blessing for that day was watching her eyes light up when we turned it on!

A Week's Worth of Blessings

So, this week I have been a bad blogger.

I have been so busy that I haven't even

gotten to blog about my blessings this week.

As for my blessings for the week.

I have been blessed abundantly but I only have a few pictures to show for it.

There are 3 people that I have been blessed wth this week.

Amy is my hairdresser.

I met her through Dani and she has quickly become one of my favorite people.

I love getting my hair done and chit-chatting with her.

Now that Landry is getting her haircut,

I wouldn't have anyone but Amy do it.

The next blessing in my life came to me a couple of years ago.

Tim and I were searching for someone to watch Landry while we worked

and we prayed long and hard to find someone who would care for her and love her.

When I found Dolores she came highly reccomended and I knew we had found the right person.

Friday was her last day to keep Landry. I'm off for the next couple of weeks

and Landry starts her new school in January so we are done with this chapter in her life.

Dolores has been so good to us and has really done a good job with Landry.

We will be sad to not see her face every day

My next blessing should come as no surprise to anyone.

It is my new brother in law Bobby.

I absolutely adore him.

We had a surprise party for him last night at his brothers house

and he was really surprised!

This is the only picture Tim could get of him so you can't

see his face but he was surprised!

Bobby is definately a blessing in my life and has been for

7 years. I love him as if he was my own brother.

Yeah!

I'm off work for a few weeks and I'm spending some

good TLC time with my hubby and favorite girl!

That in itself is a blessing!

Yesterday as Tim and I set out to do some shopping,

we took Landry and thought it was a great idea.

Boy, were we wrong!

She was not in the mood to shop and it made it

10 times more difficult for us.

In comes my parents.

Luckily, they had no plans so we dropped her off there

and then Tim and I had a nice dinner and finished our shopping!

My blessing for yesterday was definately my parents!

yesterday just waiting for visitors!

Today was our annual daddy daughter shopping day.

Dani and I have been going with my dad

to shop for my mom for 20 years now.

We love it.

This year we went to Southlake Town center

and got her some good stuff.

I was a girl scout when I was younger and

we always sang this song.

It has always stuck with me.

I have made a lot of new friends lately but

one of my oldest friends is still one of my best.

Today my blessing is Shay and her two kiddos.

We met them at the mall today and walked around

and let the kids play in the play area.

Then we went and had lunch in the food court.

Kensington and Landry loved sitting next to one another!

(By the way, this was the only picture I got. Do you know how

hard it is to corral 3 kids 3 and under? Let alone get them to

all sit still for a picture?)

Tim was gone tonight so Landry and I went on a date

just the two of us!

Two Days Worth of Blessings

Well yesterday was such a blur that I did not

even have time to blog about our daily blessing.

My blessing for yesterday was what I was so busy with.

I love the girls that I work with and since there are so

few of us in our department we always try and take the

time to go out together and do stuff.

Last night we went to eat a yummy dinner at Saint Ann's restaurant

and then we went to see A Christmas Carol at the theatre.

We had such a good time and the play was really good!

I am so blessed to work with such wonderful ladies!

Our Blessings from the Weekend

This weekend we were blessed abundantly.
My parents and Tim and I were able to get away for a
few days and go to Austin to go to the outlets and shop!
We had such a good time and even got to visit another
Man vs. Food restaurant.
We love that show and anytime we are going out of town we
scope out if he's been there to eat somewhere.
We went to a place called the Salt Lick.
It was some yummy BBQ.

And some yummy blackberry cobbler!

Sunday morning on the way home we stopped at Round Rock Donuts

While we were gone our girl was in good hands.

Our blessings for the weekend were Aunt Steph and Dani.

Friday night, Stephanie had her at our house.

She took her to dinner

Oh I missed that sweet face all weekend!

Saturday night Dani had her and took her to

Rainforest Cafe

Then she took her for chocolate chip pancakes Sunday morning!

She was definitely taken care of all weekend.

Thank you Steph and Dani for keeping our girl in good hands!

Yesterday afternoon after we got back we went to

a Christmas party at my parents friends house.

Santa was there!

All week we have been discussing Santa and telling Landry

that we were going to see him and she gets so excited and acts

like she really wants to see him. The minute we stepped foot in the door

she clung to Tim and I. She screamed the instant she saw him and wouldn't

even be in the same room as him! Poor thing.

Everytime we ask her what she wants from Santa she says books and

yesterday she told me that she doesn't need books now! Poor thing just

didn't want to ask Santa for them. I told her I would tell Santa for her!

Grammy took care of that for me and told him what Landry wanted!

We had such a good time!

Afterwards we went over to Tim's parents house to decorate their tree.

Landry has gotten to decorate 3 trees now, she's getting pretty good at it!

Today's Blessing is someone who often

She is definetely a blessing to us and has

been for 6 years.

Angel (or Digel as Landry calls her) loves us as much as we love her.

Poor thing gets hugged and kissed way more than she

probably wants to on a daily basis.

Hello and Happy December 1st!

Today marks the first day of my favorite month of the year.

We have a lot planned for this month and I love it!

I have been seeing this Elf on the Shelf all over and thought

it would be a neat concept for Landry this year.

She is going through one of the hardest phases yet and

I thought it would a good concept for her to think

an elf is watching everything you do and reports back to Santa.

Meet Choo-Choo

Yes, Choo-Choo.

If you know my daughter you know her obsession with trains.

So of course when we got him out of the box and

I told her she could name it, she said "he choo-choo".

Today also markes the first day of our advent calendar.

Landry has been waiting until we could move the candy cane to day 1.

With every day we move this I want to record a blessing in the our lives.

Today's blessing is my Grammy.

Tonight we celebrated her 75th Birthday!

Grammy is such a blessing in our lives and

Landry absolutely adores her.

Our Thanksgiving of 2011

Well, another Thanksgiving has come and gone

and we had a very succesful one.
Here is just a glimpse into our holiday.

You can't go grocery shopping at Target without a Starbucks, right?

Last Wednesday night we went out with our family

for our annual Birthday dinner for Tim and Bobby.

We started this tradition years ago and it's nice to go out the

night before Thanksgiving and not have to cook!

Grandaddy was our savior and fed and played

with Landry and really helped us out!

Love him.

Her favorite game was Skeeball

After that she wanted to ride the motorcycle

Then she and I rode the roller coaster ride

This is the prize that Tim won her

Yeah!

It's Thanksgiving morning!

I got the house ready.

This year I hosted our parents and Stephanie for dinner.

Our Weekend Adventures!

This weekend we had lots of fun!

Friday night we went over to Tim's parents house to cook them dinner.
Debbie had foot surgery while we were gone
to Disneyworld and we haven't been able to get food to her.
I thought it would be more fun this way.
She got to sit and see Landry and I got to cook in her kitchen,
with the help from my hubby and Steph of course!

She loves it!

Landry is so lovey-dovey right now.

I love this phase and hope it lasts for a while!

Saturday we met my parents out at Southlake to shop and eat lunch.

We ate at one of our favorites, Brio.

For dessert Pop got us a warm fudgy cake and guess who got the majority of it?

Saturday night our Sunday School class had our first annual Turkey Bowling!

We brought all the kids out and bowled and then sat in the cars and tailgated.

I actually didn't bowl, but watched and played with Landry on the playground.

Last night we went to the store and our new thing

is to ride this car if she is good afterwards.

Our Magical trip to Disneyworld!

On Thursday, my mom, dad, Landry,

Tim and I left for Orlando to spend a long

weekend at Disneyworld!

In case you haven't noticed my family

loves Disney!

Watch out for picture overload!

We flew in Thursday morning and the captain

let Landry come up to the cockpit and take a picture!

After we got to Orlando we went to the outlet

mall and let Landry play on the playground

Friday we drove to Daytona for my dad and Tim.

Then we drove down the coast

Friday night we went to Downtown Disney and ate

at House of Blues

I got a chocolate covered strawberry at Ghirardelli

and it was yummy!

I took Landry on the carousel

And thus begins our trip to the parks!

Saturday morning we went to a character breakfast at one

of the resorts and we thought Landry would just love seeing

Minnie Mouse. However that is a different story.

As soon as Minnie walked out, Landry freaked out and got out

of her highchair and into Tim's arms as fast as she could.

Our first park was Epcot

They were having their wine and food festival

going on and dad and I shared a yummy apple strudel from Germany!

Then I had fish and chips from England

Here I am pointing to Dani's and I's picture up on the wall there.

I hated not having her there with me on the other side.

We took Landry on the Finding Nemo ride and after you are done

they have an aquarium you can walk around in

She made it all day with nothing but little cat naps

and did awesome!

On Sunday we went to Magic Kingdom

and took Landry on the teacups!

We let Tim take the reigns and spin us

and she loved every minute of it!

This has kind of become their tradition.

She loved this ride!

We got a special treat this trip.

It just so happened that the Thomas family was visiting her sister and the

new baby and they came to the park on the same day we did!

We haven't seen them in over a year and we really miss them.

Polynesian hotel to eat at Ohana.

We love this restaurant and always eat there when we go.

We had to wait for a little while until we could sit down

and Tim was entertaining Landry for us.

My parents bought Landry this Mickey Mouse and

she carried it everywhere!

During the dinner they ask all the kids to come up

and dance and play games and Mimi took Landry

to play in the game.

We had such a good trip and hated leaving, but we left knowing

that we are coming back next year!

I cannot wait to see what that trip will bring!

Yes, as a matter of fact, I am a horrible blogger!

This I know.

I've accepted it and embraced it.

Here are some things we have been doing over

the last couple of weeks.

We went and ate at the Boozer's house for the first World Series game

and Landry loved driving Charley's car around!

We went to dinner with the Shull's a few weeks ago, and this is the

best Shay and I could do with getting the girls' picture!

Last weekend we went to a local pumpkin patch and let

Landry pick out a pumpkin to bring home.

They also had a slide

and some cars

Then she discovered the greatness that is kettle corn!

Shay turned 30 last week and we went to her parents house

for a surprise party!

I loved hanging out with her McKinney friends and her family.

I have known Shay since we were 12 and we have so many

memories together. I couldn't make it through life without this girl!

Halloween!

Landry really got into Halloween this year and loved getting

all sorts of goodies!

My parents got her a pumpkin full of her favorites

Including her first pair of underwear!

Our church had their trunk or treat on Sunday after church

and Landry got to play with Brady and Charley!

On Monday for Halloween we went to my work for our annual

Halloween extravaganza!

We stopped at Grammy's house to trick or treat

and show them her costume!

Then we walked down the street to Mrs Kim's house to

get some goodies from her!

After that we went to our old church's trunk or treat and hang out

with the Boozer family

They had a petting zoo

Wonder Woman was tuckered out by the end of the night!

What You Missed

So, since my little blogging hiatus, a lot

has been going on in the Smith house.

Here is just a glimpse into the things

I have missed blogging about.

A few weeks ago I took Landry to our

public library. She loves books and Bedford

just built a new library and I figured it was a

good time to take her.

She loved it!

The library was pretty bare so we snuck off into

a little corner and got some books and sat

and read them.

I love that she loves books and hopefully

will love to read someday.

The library also has little computers for her

age to sit and listen to books and

interact with them.

Last week since it is still so hot at night I

let Landry eat a fudgesicle on the patio.

She loved it!

She thinks it's fun getting messy!

Last week we finally got around to taking my mom

out for her Birthday. We went to one of my

family's favorite restaurants, Chuy's.

Love that smile!

After dinner we went back to Dani and Bobby's

place to frost and eat some cupcakes!

Last week Landry found these sunglasses

and has worn them every day since!

This past Saturday night we went to a family friends

wedding. It was at the same church Dani and Bobby got married in

and the same church Tim and I got married in. I love the Sanctuary.

The main reason we love the fair?

The FOOD!

Tim's favorite this year was the buffalo chicken in a flapjack.

It was actually really good.

My favorite?

The frito pie balls.

We took Landry to the petting zoo and she loved it!

She loves animals and tried to touch each one

If you know my child, you know her love of rides.

We had bought so many tickets that she got to ride 4 this year!

Hello!
I promise we have not fallen off the face of
the Earth, but we have been very busy.
I figured I better post something or I will never
hear the end of it from my momma, mother-in-law or Grammy!
Well, let's see.

Wedding first!

My baby sister and Bobby got hitched on September 9

and it was beautiful!

I was so proud and honored to stand up with my

sister on her special day. Unfortunately, I can only post a

couple of pictures because the night of the

rehearsal I discovered my camera broke :(
I am going to borrow a few from the photographer's blog though!

So, how did Landry do the day of the wedding?
Well, let's just say she looked prettier than she acted!

Landry was carried out before the

ceremony began kicking and screaming!

Fun times.

A few days after the ceremony I got to
go to Seattle for work!
In our downtime we got to do some sightseeing.
Remember how I said my camera broke?
Well, I had to send it off to be repaired and I only
got some IPhone pics!
We got to visit the Space Needle

The next day we got to go to Boeing and
pick up the airplane and take lots of fun pictures before we left.

Last week Tim had softball so Landry and I decided to walk to Fuddruckers down the street.

It was so nice out and she loves to go for walks.
She got some yummy chicken fingers and orange soda.

I love these times with just her and I.

On to Potty Training!
We are doing really well and I'm pretty confident she is getting the hang of it.
She knows now to just walk in there and go.
No prodding or pushing anymore.
For incentive I made her this potty chart and
everytime she goes she gets to put a sticker in a box.
After 10 stickers we get a prize from the store.
Here she is with her first chart filled out!

She was so proud of herself.
It really has helped because she knows when she goes she gets to put the sticker on.
Also, she got her box of reeses pieces for her prize and she loved it!
Let's hope she keeps it up!

Trains and Potty Training

Well, well, well.

It's time for another mid week update!

This week is so busy with a certain wedding on Saturday,

I have hardly had time to take any pictures!

On Saturday, Tim and I thought we would do something fun

with Landry and what started out as a great night,

slowly turned into a not so great night.

Landry loves trains!

Every day after I pick her up, we go right by the

railroad track in Irving and every day it never fails

she points out the "choo-choo" train.

When Tim and I worked for the same company

A LONG time ago, we rode the train every day together.

We knew Landry would love this, and boy did she!

As soon as we pulled into the train station she

couldn't get out of her car seat fast enough.

The train finally showed up and we went up

to the 2nd story so she could look out.

Oh my goodness, the girl was in Heaven!

She pointed out everything and kept saying

"I on a choo-choo twain momma"!

Of course, baby had to come along too!

After we got downtown, we hopped on the lightrail to the

West End and walked to the Hard Rock Cafe.

Luckily, the place was loud because Landry

was not in the mood to sit and eat.

She just wanted to get down and run all over.

Any advice on how we can keep her

occupied through dinner would be greatly appreciated!

After that is when it started to go downhill.

I guess I haven't been to the West End in a while,

but geez it is not a good part of town after dark!

Tim held Landry close and everytime we would pass

someone "interesting" she would point and ask about them.

Needless to say, we got to the train station as fast as we could!

We wore the poor girl out!

She loved it, and we will definitely be

going again, just maybe for lunch next time!

Sunday, we went with my parents and

Dani to the Bedford BBQ and Blues festival.
My dads work was one of the sponsors so we got to
sit in a VIP tent and eat some yummy BBQ!

This girl is definitley mine, she loves rides!

Everyone knows after BBQ, you need some ice cream!

The other big thing we did this week was

going on our potty for the first time!

We have been putting off potty training for a while now

because I want to get through this weekend with no accidents in the church!

But, the time has come because she is starting a

new school in January and they have to be potty trained!

The last couple of weeks I have been persistent about

putting her on the potty just to sit there for a while until she goes.

Nothing has ever happened. She just sits there and stares at me like

"what do you want me to do on here"?

Then of course, last night I went out to Flower Mound for

one last wine night before Dani gets married with my mom

and sis and lo and behold she decides to make this the time to go!

I was on my way home from FM,

on the phone with Grammy and saw that Tim was trying to call me.

I thought he just had a question or something, so I ignored it.

Then as I walked in the door he told me

she just walked in there and said "I go tee-tee" and went!

Such a proud moment.

I ran in there and gave her a big hug

and told her she was such a big girl!

Ugh, she is getting so big on me!

We have so much to do before Saturday!

Wedding Week has officially arrived!

Bachelorette Party!

This past weekend we had Dani's Bachelorette Party!

We went and stayed at the W Hotel in Dallas

The first thing we did was have some wine tasting

and the lingerie shower!

She got some really pretty things

After that we went and had dinner at a really

nice sushi place

Our waiter was awesome and took really good care of us

and brought Dani some yummy fried ice cream for dessert

After dinner we went back to the room to eat some cake.

I had the cutest cake made for her and it was so yummy!

After cake we went upstairs to the Ghost Bar

and did some dancing and hanging out with all of

Dani's girls!

We had such a fun time getting to love on Dani and making sure

her last single soiree was memorable!

Catching Up

We have been so busy this past week!

On Thursday of last week, Landry and I

went to Tim's work to help him with open house.

I have gone the past couple of years

to help and this year Landry came with me.

I got Landry her very own t-shirt!

Saturday, we went out to my parents house and Landry

decided she wanted to water Mimi's flowers

We got to play in the pool with Dani and Bobby

Angel got to play in the pool too

Saturday night, Dani and Bobby had their last shower!

It was a pantry party where everyone brought

them something to stock their new pantry at their

condo with. They got some yummy food!

Thursday was my dad's birthday and he and my mom

went to Galveston so we celebrated his birthday Sunday night.

We went to a yummy sushi place where Landry learned to use chopsticks!

Bobby taught her how to put a spoon on your nose and make it stick!

He teaches her such valuable life lessons!

Happy Birthday Dad, we love you!

Today I went to the Dallas base to treat our pilots

to a yummy breakfast and lunch and for breakfast

we ordered them this huge cinnamon roll!

They loved it!

Party Animals!

This weekend, we had not one, but two parties!

Friday night, we met Tim's parents and sister

out for dinner at one of our favorite mexican food

places and they have an ice cream machine there

which is incentive for Landry to eat all her food!

Saturday morning, we went to a diner and had some yummy breakfast!

Then, while daddy went to work for a bit, we ran some errands

Saturday night, we went to a couples shower for

Dani and Bobby.

Sunday, we went to Kent's Birthday party!

Kent is Bobby's nephew and we love him and his parents!

Landry calls him Nent and just loves him!

Kristen did such a good job decorating and they had some blow

up pools for the kids to play in.

and at first Landry didn't understand

But then she got the hang of it!

He fell asleep in his high chair!

I guess all the partying wore her out!

Nachos, Bowling and a Shower

Well, another weekend has come and gone.

Friday night we took Landry to

Joe T Garcias. We love this place!

We sat outside, but it actually wasn't too bad.

Landry loves their nachos!

Saturday, my family went bowling!

All 4 of my grandparents grandkids were born within a 3 week period,

so we always celebrate our birthdays together.

We love to bowl!

Landry loved it for about 20 minutes

then wanted to go do something else!

Everyone got to chip in and help her bowl!

I thought she looked so cute in her bowling shoes!

Sunday, Dani had a bridal shower at our friends house.

They did such a nice job decorating and had a great food spread!

She got some really nice stuff and had the cutest helper!

Less than 5 weeks!

We can't wait

This past weekend we went to Galveston

to get a little rest and relaxation!

My mom and I flew out there with Landry

on Thursday and met my dad out there.

Landry loved walking around the airport and she

had plenty of time to do it. We had to wait 5

hours! She did great!

She loved watching the airplanes!

She even took her baby to the window to show her the airplane

To pass some of the time and keep her happy,

we got some yummy ice cream!

Finally we got on the plane.

She did so good the whole time and I was so proud of her

We spent that night in my dad's hotel room

and she hardly slept at all,

which means mommy didn't sleep!

I love her in her backpack!

We bought it the other day and she has

hardly taken it off since we bought it.

I keep thinking 3 years from now,

we will be buying her school backpack, scary!

Once we finally got to Galveston, we decided to eat at

Rainforest Cafe and they have a ride in the dark.

She loved it at first, but then got a little scared.

Tim flew in Friday night and while we were waiting for him

we went to Chuy's for dinner.

We love Chuy's!

Landry was playing with Pop while we waited for our table.

Saturday, we went over to Kemah.

It is this cute little city on the water about 30 minutes outside of Galveston.

They have a really neat boardwalk with rides and restaurants.

If it wasn't 105 degrees outside, we would of had more fun!

While Tim and I wanted to ride the roller coaster,

my parents wanted to take Landry on this ride!

She loved it and my parents said she looked

out the whole time and kept waiving!

The whole reason we went to Kemah was to eat here!

Tim and I saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

We have been to 4 places now from that show.

It was so yummy, and did not dissapoint!

Saturday night we got dressed up and went to our

favorite seafood restaurant right on the water.

My dad bought Landry her first Shirley Temple and she loved it!

I love Shirley Temples too and always thought they were fancy growing up!

Saturday night I celebrated my 30th Birthday

I love this girl!

And Tim loves her husband!

Bobby bought me some kind of shot I had

never heard of and I was supposed to chug it,

but got about halfway through and gave up.

It was one of the nastiest things I have ever tasted!

I got to blow out 30 candles on my yummy cake

My mom bought me the cutest balloon for my chair!

And I got some really great gifts from everyone!

I had such a good time and I am so blessed to

have such wonderful people in my life

and as I was looking around the room

I thought to myself just how lucky I really am!

Today is my 30th Birthday!

I had such a fantastic day.

First, I came into work and this was on my door

Then, one of my good friends brought me these!

Then I got taken out to a yummy lunch by my co-workers to Maggiano's!

I am so lucky, I have the greatest co-workers!

Then, my hubby took me to one of my favorite places to eat, Joe T Garcia's!

Landry was so good at dinner, I'm convinced it was my gift from her!

30 is looking good so far!

A Reflection of my 20's

Today is my last day in my 20's.

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the things

that have happened to me and the things I have done

and accomplished.

I lost a grandparent

I got engaged

I started working for a great company

I got married to my high school sweetheart

We bought a house

I got pregnant and then miscarried

I got pregnant again!

I had Landry

I watched both my parents turn 50

I saw Dani get engaged to a great guy

I took Landry to Disney World for the first time

I went on my first cruise

I swam with dolphins

As I step into the next phase of my life,

I feel with certainty that these were some

of my best years.

I had so much happen to me and

I feel like I accomplished more than I ever wanted to.

I can't wait to see what my 30's will bring me!

This weekend we began the celebrations of

both my Birthday and Dani's first shower!

Wednesday, I turn 30!

My parents decided to take us out to dinner last night

We went to my favorite type of restaurant, Hibachi!

I love, love, love hibachi

The cook found out we were celebrating my birthday and sent out some yummy fried ice cream.

I love that the markers only write on the paper and nowhere else!

Today, we had Dani's first shower!

We have 8 more weeks until her and Bobby say "I do"!

The girls that threw her shower did such a good job.

They had all pink and black themed food and some yummy cupcakes.

I brought Landry with me and she wanted to help "Ninny"
so she sat up there with her and helped her throw away the trash.

Such a fun weekend!

We were so busy, but had fun while we were at it!

We had a fun night!

Sunday, we went to church and then after naps

July 4th Weekend

Happy July 4th!

This weekend was a busy one!

Thursday, we took Dani to dinner for her Birthday.

Landry loves helping blow out the candles.

Friday night, we went to the Ranger game for my friend Aimee's Birthday.

We got to sit in one of the suites in the air conditioning!

It was very nice to watch the game this way.

Aimee and I have known each other since birth

and our moms have been friends since junior high!

I love this girl and think it is so neat that we are only 3 weeks apart!

Our friends Scott and Amanda came too.

It just so happens that Amanda and Aimee went to school together, and we all know each other.

It really is a small world!

After the game, we got to stay and watch the fireworks

Saturday, we went to Tim's parents house to

swim and eat some yummy food

Landry got to swim with her Aunt Steph all day

Sunday, we went over to my Aunt Diane and Uncle Donny's

house to swim and eat some more good food.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little sister!

Today, Dani turns 26.

Goodness, my little girl is getting old, which means I'm getting old!

Here we are the day we brought her home from the hospital!

This past weekend, I surprised Dani with a little mini trip to Phoenix.

I was going for work anyways, so I let her tag along with me.

I had forgotten how much fun we have together.

In just 2 short months, this girl will be a married woman

and she will have a wonderful husband to go along with it,

so I knew I only had a short time to get her away.

I took her to a nice dinner Sunday night and we had the best view from our table.

We both have a love for Phoenix, even though the high there was 111!

Saturday night, Tim and I went out to celebrate her birthday as well.

We met up with a lot of her friends and Bobby's family and had such a great time.

Such a cute couple!

I love Bobby's sister and sister in law as if they were my own!

Dad's Day Weekend

Hi, my name is Kara and I'm a procrastinator!

We had such a wonderful weekend!

I am so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful fathers.
Saturday, we spent the day at Tim's parents house swimming a grilling out.
Tim's grandma was there and she bought Landry some of the cutest toys

Debbie bought her this new toy for the pool and she loved it,

although she had a hard time staying on it!

Sunday morning, we woke up and gave Daddy his cards

They started putting together a little project for Landry at my parents house.

Playing Catch Up

Before I forget, I wanted to post about what's been going on in the Smith House!
We have had such a fun week.
Here is just a glimpse into what we have been doing

Jacob Graduates
My cousin Jacob graduated from high school last weekend. It is so hard for me to believe he is grown up and off to Texas Tech next year! We are so proud of him and can't wait to visit him in Lubbock! After his graduation we all went back to his house and had a family party.

After the party, Landry and Stephanie went outside to swim. Landry showed off some of her new skills she learned in swim lessons!

Stephanie and Landry are about the same age apart as Stephanie and I are. I played with her when she was little just like she does with Landry. It's fun to see the progression of this family. I love this girl!

After swimming we all went inside where it was boys vs. girls in pool. I have no clue how to play, so while they did this

Family Time

Last Friday night we met my parents and Dani and Bobby out at Rockfish by their house. We love this restaurant and eat there a lot! After dinner, Dani went next door and got her and Landry some ice cream.

After dinner we went back to my parents house and Landry played with Bobby's 2 dogs, Bullet and Izzy. My girl fell in love! She loves dogs anyways, but these two are smaller and she was able to chase and play with them all weekend.

Somebody else fell in love while we were there too!

Brady Boozer

As I stated in an earlier post, my girl loves Brady!

Hilary dropped him off Thursday night so she could go to a shower and he and Landry played and ran around for 2 hours! They had such fun together. Brady is so good with her.

Although, I just noticed that Landry only has on a diaper. There is a good reason for this! We ate spaghetti for dinner and she is messy so I took off her clothes to eat and she just stayed that way! I promise she does normally have clothes on when friends come over!

Swim Class Show-Off

Friday was the last day of swim lessons and you can have people come watch you and your child show what you've learned. Tim, his mom, his grandma and my mom all came to watch us.

Hilary and I have had so much fun with our girls in this class. It has been nice having someone to play with the last two weeks. We also met some really nice people through this class! I have loved it.

Hilary and I discovered that the girls had the same swimsuit so we had them wear them on this day!
They were too cute together!

I have been working from home this week, and have loved the time it is giving me with Landry.

She has been pretty good about letting me work while she plays in the playroom.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are not exactly going as I had hoped.

The first day, she was not happy about getting in.

She has warmed up a little bit, but we are still working on it.

Charley and Hilary are in our class and we love it!

and she is constantly looking back to make sure "Bady" saw her!

Yesterday afternoon, it was so pretty outside, so after Landry woke up

we went outside and had our snack.

I love, love, love watermelon and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

Goodness gracious, it's so hot outside already!

That means we just get to spend more time in the pool!

We did just that this weekend.

Two weekends in a row we got to spend laying out.

I love it!

Friday, Landry and I went to visit Debbie at school.

We got to have lunch with her and see all the people she works with.

Saturday we went to their house to lay out and swim.

Landry starts swim lessons tomorrow and I am so glad she is comfortable in the water.

She has done great both weekends that we have been swimming.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a nice weekend.

I love 3 day weekends.

Friday night, Landry wanted to call Uncle Bobby, so Dani let her Skype him.

She loves Skyping and thinks everytime we call someone, she should be able to see them!

Saturday, we went flower girl dress shopping again.

This time we took Campbell with us.

Her and Landry got along great.

Landry watched everything she did and tried to mock her!

This time, we actually found the dress and ordered it for the both of them!

I wasn't able to get a picture of Landry in it though, because as soon as we were taking the first dress off to try the new one on, she was running around not watching where she was going and ran smack dab into the mirrored dressing room! Poor thing got a bloody nose and a fat lip. She was done trying on dresses after that! Luckily Campbell was able to model it for us and we loved it! They are going to look so precious at the wedding.

Campbell holds a special place in Dani's life.

She has been her nanny since she was born.

This girl also holds a special place in her life!

She is by no means modest!

Saturday afternoon, we went back to Campbell's house to swim.

Campbell has twin one year old sisters that Dani has now had the pleasure to nanny for, and they had a fun swim party that Landry got to go swim at.

Saturday night, after dinner we came back to my parents house and Landry was in the silliest mood. That got Dani, mom and I in a silly mood and we turned on the 80's music and just started dancing. We had so much fun!

Aunt Dani was teaching Landry how to do her forward rolls!

Sunday, all we did was lay out and swim.

It was so nice

The Windy City.

I had been to Chicago once in high school and didn't remember much about it.

This time I went for work.

I didn't get much time to explore, but I definately want to go back when I can stay for a longer duration.

I did however get to explore a little bit of the city.

First Dip and Flower Girl Dress Shopping

I remember being younger and wanting to get into my Grammy's pool so bad that Dani and I would just jump in for the first time and freeze. We didn't want to have to get out so with quivering lips we would tell my mom that it felt good and we weren't cold!

As we were outside Saturday, it was so nice out and humid that Landry decided she wanted to get into the pool. We changed her into her new princess bathing suit and let her just play in my parents hot tub for a while. She loved it, and thought it was her very own baby pool!

Tim put his swimsuit on and jumped in to play with her.

She loved it for all of two minutes until daddy dunked her!

We start swim lessons in two weeks!

Sunday, we went to look at flower girl dresses for Dani's wedding.

We made the mistake of taking her right at naptime, so she did good for like the first two dresses and then about lost it.

Dani then proceeded to give her a sucker and we were gone!

I think we will be taking her back next weekend way before naptime!

Lately, I feel as if our little family is going non-stop!

I love this time of year though and all that it brings.

Saturday, we went to Grapevine for Main St. Days and Landry went to her first petting zoo.

She wasn't as excited as I thought she would be and didn't want to go near the goats

She did however, want to ride the kids train they had

I thought the wagon was a great idea because it was open and she could get out as she pleased,

Wrong! First she wanted to ride and all was well, but then when we let her out she didn't want to get back in and screamed and then wanted to help pull it.

Needless to say, we will be sticking with the stroller for a while longer!

Sunday morning as I was getting ready Tim gave Landry a bath and then brought her into our bathroom to blow-dry her hair.

I had never seen him do this before and thought it was so cute.

He put a towel around her like she was at the beauty shop!

Sunday for lunch, the Boozer's came over and we lost Brady and Landry right after to the playroom.

Landry loves Brady Boozer and just follows him everywhere!

We are still loving gymnastics on Tuesday nights and this week, they got to play with bubbles after class

Last night, we had a shower for Amanda in our Sunday school class and I got to hold sweet Parker and feed him while she opened presents.

Ugh, he is so cute!

Almost 26 years ago, I was blessed with Dani Lynn.

She is by far one of the best people I know.

Some facts about Dani:

1. She loves her family

2. She is getting married in less than 4 months!

3. She is crazy about my daughter and has been since the day I told her I was pregnant

4. She is so giving and buys Landry stuff all the time

(this is her "cheese" face)

5. She is marrying a great guy

6. She graduated Thursday!

I could not be more proud of her and all that she is going to accomplish.

Congrats Boo, I love you!
I must say, for a 2 year old my daughter did really good at the two and a half hour ceremony!
She did have some help though with my Grammy and Mom there

Mother's Day Weekend

I was blessed 2 years and 3 months ago with Landry Kate Smith.

Over these past 2 years, she has taught me a lot about what being a mom means.

I do not take a minute I have with her for granted.

Thank you Landry for teaching me how to be humble, patient, loving and what it truly means to see Jesus through another persons eyes.

Saturday night, we cooked Debbie a feast!

I made lobster for the first time!
I let Debbie enjoy her time with Landry and she wanted to play outside and swing.

Sunday, we spent the day with my mom.

My mom and I went to a Cinco De Mayo party last night.
I love having an excuse to dress up!

I have been meaning to blog about this for the past couple of weeks.

I've had the hardest time cooking dinner with Landry lately.

All she wants to do is hang on me and it is so hard to cook!

I came up with the idea to have her help me, that way she felt important and I got my dinner done.

We have this ottoman and she pulls it over to the counter when I start dinner and then she helps me pour the ingredients and usually ends up pulling all the utensils out, but at least it occupy's her!

I found the cutest idea for my mom and Tim's mom for Mother's day for Landry to make.

I'll make sure and show the final product once it is finished!

Ever since Landry was little, she has loved watching Tim mow.

She runs to the window and will just stare and give me a play by play of where daddy is in the yard

That's about it.

I can't wait to spend the weekend with all the moms that mean the most to me and to be thankful that I am a blessed momma as well!
