Gobble Gobble Gobble

I got asked no more than 4 times this weekend "How come you haven't updated your blog in a while?"  Well, here I am updating you on the happenings of the Smith family as of late.  I absolutely love this time of year.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are my absolute favorite holidays to celebrate.  With this time of year comes being busy all the time.  Poor Landry gets a nap in when she can these days!
The weekend before last we spent with my parents. Landry got her 4th haircut,
Chilled on the couch with Pop,
and got to go see the twins that my sister nannies for.
She loved playing with them and helping get all their toys out!
Wednesday night we went out for Tim's and Bobby's Birthdays. Let me explain. Tim's Birthday is 4 days before Christmas and Bobby's is 4 days after. That makes it really hard to celebrate their Birthdays, so years ago we started celebrating the night before Thanksgiving. It makes it so much easier. Here are the early Birthday boys
Happy Thanksgiving! It was so cold waking up Thursday morning and I loved it! Landry got up especially early because kids do not know it's a Holiday and we sleep in on Holidays! No big deal, I loved snuggling up on the couch and watching cartoons with her. Tim knows how much I love a fire, so he made one for me. It was such a neat experience sitting there on Thansgiving morning holding my baby watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade with a fire going. I thought right then and there how thankful I am to God for all he has blessed me with.
I made Landry a turkey shirt this year. I was pretty proud of myself and plan to make her a few Christmas ones.
For lunch on Thursday, we went over to my aunt and uncles house to see my dads side of the family. Our cousin Lindsey had her first baby a few months ago, and she let me feed Riley. Landry of course had to help being the little mother that she is. She did such a good job of holding the bottle and holding his head. It was a weird experience for me thinking this is what it would be like to have 2 children.
Landry of course found her favorite person there
Her new thing is carrying our purses around. She loves Dani's purse.
For dinner, we went over to Mike and Debbie's friend Kathy's house. Landry got to play with Grandpa and Aunt Stephanie whom she adores
Friday, we went shopping for a little bit
Then, Friday night we went over to my parents friends house to see their house decorated for Christmas. I had no clue what we were in for. They have 65,000 lights and it takes them 5 weeks to put everything up. I cannot put into words what this place looked like. It was amazing! We got to look around and see everything and Landry loved it!
Then we got to ride his train. This was the neatest experience. He has this old fashioned train that he restored and you can fit 13 kids in it and they have all the neighborhood kids come over to ride it. Landry loved it.
She also loved dancing with the singing snowman
                                          Christmas card anyone?
Saturday, we did Thanksgiving with my moms side of the family. I love these 2 girls!
My Paw-Paw, cousin Chase and Bobby
                                                              Landry loves her Grammy!
Sunday, we went to lunch at Landrys favorite place, Freddy's. She loves their fries. She has learned how to dip the fry into ketchup and now has to have ketchup with everything!
As I was typing this post and looking at all the family and friends we spent these last 4 days with, I was overcome with how truly thankful I am to God for all he has blessed me with.
Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkey!

Catch-Up

After the whirlwind of the week I've had, we are just catching up! My busy season is just getting started and I am already in a fog! On Friday, with my Starbucks in hand,

(yep, that's a pumpkin spiced latte)

I went with my church friends out to Weatherford and had a girls overnight retreat. It was really good to get away with other moms and not have our kids and to talk about our lives and all that is going on right now. We as moms don't lift each other up enough. It is nice to get away every once in a while and do that. Here was one of my two roomates for the night
Charley got to come on the retreat and stayed with us. She was so good and hardly made a peep the whole night. Hilary said she had to put her in bed with us, but I was so tired I wouldn't of noticed anyways!

I was so happy to get back home to my little girl. She was so happy to see me, it makes my time away that much easier knowing she will be excited to see me when I get home.
Tonight, we went to see Debbie in the hospital. She had knee replacement surgery. She wanted me to bring Landry up to see her.

That about covers it!

Our weekend in Birmingham

This weekend, Tim and I went to Birmingham.  I won a free weekend stay at a really nice downtown hotel and we took full advantage of our time there.  Saturday, I was a good wife and let my husband go to Talladega speedway to see the Motor sports hall of fame.  Why my husband is interested in this stuff I will never know, but I indulged him because that is what a good wife does!
Saturday night, we went to a yummy restaurant.  It was so nice to be there just the two of us and be able to talk and enjoy each others company.
Tim rented us a really fun car!
If you want to see what Landry did all weekend, you can hop on over to my sister's blog.  She wrote some really sweet things about their time together.

21 Months

Today, our little girl turns 21 months old! I can't believe we are just 3 months shy of 2 years old. Landry has been such a ball of energy lately. Especially after her bath at night. She just runs around laughing and talking and playing. Here are her stats for this month:
* She weighs around 33 pounds
* She wears a size 7-8 shoe
* She is still in 2T clothes
* She has started mumbling like she is trying so hard to say her first sentence, but it comes out sounding something like this: madamadakfgjfdgklfdlglfd; Don't ask me what she is trying to say, but she sure knows.
* There is a Chick-Fil-A commercial on the radio right now that has a cow mooing and every time it moos Landry moos with it. It is the cutest thing.

On Monday, we went to dinner with my Grammy and Grandaddy. Landry desperately needed a bath before we left, so Grammy gave her one. I got really nostalgic because Dani and I spent many a night in this bath tub playing games and playing with this exact same Noah's Ark toy. I can't wait for Landry to be older and get to spend the night with them. Some of my favorite memories are from those times.
Also, after dinner we came back to their house and Grammy had made pastacio pudding for dessert. This is my favorite kind of pudding. Grammy always had it when we would stay with her. Landry loved it as much as I did.
I am so glad Landry is going to have fun memories with them like I did.  I mean how can this lady not be fun?
Also, look who has art work on the fridge.  Such a talented little girl!
We love you Landry Kate Smith!

Halloween 2010

Well, it was another successful Halloween!  Last year, the day after Halloween I set out to find Landry's costume for this year, knowing it would be 50% off.  When I saw the Tinkerbell costume I knew it was the one.  I was really nervous about it fitting, but she looked adorable!  On Friday, my work had it's annual Halloween extravaganza and Landry got to go with me.  She loved it.  She carried her bucket around and got the hang of asking for candy down pat.  The problem was, she thought every time someone put candy in the bucket, she could eat it right away!
Waiting in Mommy's office to go get some candy
On Sunday night, we ventured out for our first experience at Trick or Treating.  We started out at Grammy and Grandaddy's house.
 Trying on Grammy's BOO glasses
 The Smith Family Halloween 2010
 On to the next house...
Then, we moved on to Mee-Maw and Grandpa's house
After that we went to PPBC's Trunk or Treat where we got to see Brady Boozer
and Charley Boozer with her mama
 Landry with the Boozer kiddos
 Love you my little Tinkerbell
