Date Night, Play Room, Joe T's, Babes and a Goodbye

You know how some weekends are slow and you just sit around twiddiling your thumbs and relaxing while you take naps in between relaxing?  Well, this weekend was not one of those weekends.  Our weekend was BUSY!!!  We crammed so much into 48 hours, I don't even know where to begin.
Friday night Tim and I decided to drop this little girl off at Grandma and Grandpa's house
(wearing pigtails for the first time!)
While momma and daddy went on a date night.  It was a much needed time for the both of us.  Our lives have been so chaotic lately that it was nice to just relax at dinner (and not have someone eating off my plate and getting bored after 20 minutes).  I love my girl, but sometimes you just need that time with your spouse.
Saturday, we transformed our guest room into a play room.  I will definately post pictures once this new playroom does not look like a tornado has already hit it
(I kid you not, Sunday it already looked like a true "playroom")
Saturday night, we went with my parents to our favorite spot, Joe T Garcias!  We love this place solely for the atmosphere it creates.  We also loved it because it keeps very busy toddlers occupied!
Sunday, we went to lunch at Babes where Landry decided to entertain the people waiting to get in and eat
She loves the music playing outside and was dancing.  My girl has become a dancing fool.  She can now find the button and turn on her radio in her room and automatically will start dancing.  It is so cute.

Sunday night, we went to a Farewell dinner for Robbie, Melissa and Austin.  They are moving back home and the Smith's could not be more sad.

(they were looking for the dog)
I will be writing more on that later.
Phew, I am so tired, I need a weekend from my weekend!

18 Month Check Up

Yesterday, I took Landry for her 18 month check up.  Luckily we got in right away, but we still had to occupy ourselves for a good 30 minutes in a 10x10 room.  Not easy to do with a rambunctious toddler who was in desperate need of a nap!
Weight-31 pounds=90th percentile
Height-32 inches=80th percentile
Still a big girl, but at least she is growing up and not just out!
She also had to get two shots, and was not happy about those!  So, for her good behavior, we had a first for Landry.  My most favorite thing as a kid was a grape slush from Sonic.  My mom would always take me to get one when I did something good.  So, for her reward she got her first grape slush.  She conked out on the way home, so she got to enjoy it in the bath last night.
She loved it!

Today is my Dad's 51st Birthday and we celebrated by going to Cheesecake Factory.  We love us some Cheesecake Factory!  Love you Pop!
Since Tim doesn't eat cheesecake we always get the fudge cake, and it does not dissapoint!
The waiters sang "Happy Birthday to you"

Family Beach Pictures

This week while we were at the beach, I thought it would be a great time to get some pictures made of us 3 since we haven't had them done in over a year!  We were due.  My sister just purchased a really nice camera with her Birthday money and volunteered to take them for us.  Landry loves Aunt Dani, so I knew it would be east to get her to smile.  I have to say, for being an amateur, she did a pretty good job.  I just wanted some casual ones of us playing and she captured our little family of 3 so well.  Here are some of my favorites:

The Smith's go to Galveston

There is just something about being at the beach that takes me back to being a kid.  I'm not sure if it is the sounds or the smells, but I always think about the innocense of being young and running to the water and playing out all day in the sun.  My perspective has changed now that I have my own daughter.  It is like seeing the beach through her eyes is ten times better than through my own.  She was a little hesitant at first, tiptoeing on the beach, and then slowly easing her way into the water.  She eventually loved it, and didn't want to leave.  We set out last Friday to Galveston with my grandparents, uncle, aunt, cousins and my family with 4 dogs.  We were a packed house.  Here is just a glimpse into the fun that was our vacation.
This was Landry's first time to fly, and she did so good
She loved playing in the airport and watching the planes take off

She probably did so well, because this is what she did from takeoff to landing!
Like father, like daughter!
This was our cute little house we stayed in all week
Landry loved looking out from the front porch

She also loved eating snacks with Stephanie
She is in such a loving mood stage right now and gives kisses all the time
Stephanie has always been like a little sister to us.  We adore her!
Saturday night, we took Uncle Donny out for his 50th Birthday and had some good seafood!
Sunday was our first day at the beach
The one person Landry loved the most has 4 legs.  She loves her some Lucky, but I'm not so sure Lucky reciprocates those feelings!
She also loved playing and spending time with Grammy and Grandaddy this week
Monday we went to the strip and did some shopping
Then we walked on the beach and took the dogs for a walk
Thursday we went on the Colonel with Grammy.  It is this big paddle boat that takes you around the island
I had such a good time with my Stephanie and she was such a good help with Landry!
This was Landry as we were driving home.  I think my little girl had a great time!
