Aw Sugar Sugar

34 Weeks! Our girl weighs as much as this bag of sugar!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas week, I know we did. More on that later! This Christmas has been so weird for me. I keep thinking of all the fun Tim and I are going to have next year at this time. She isn't even here yet, and she got more gifts than I did!

The only pregnancy pain I have been having lately is my back. My book says it is my sciatica. Whatever it is, it hurts! I look like an old woman walking. I definitely have the "waddle" as they say. I have also been having some Braxton-Hicks contractions. These don't hurt, but I'm told they are getting me ready for the real thing!

Just 5 or so more weeks!

33 Weeks

This week our girl weighs as much as a 4 pound pineapple!

Can I just say that I am so glad I am almost done Christmas shopping. It has gone to a whole new level this year. I am so uncomfortable walking around trying to find that perfect gift. The other night in Kohl's I almost had a breakdown. Poor Tim, he has been so good to me. He was trying on some clothes. I just got so irritated standing there in my big coat and heavy purse holding all this stuff. Oh well, Christmas is almost here, and I need to enjoy it!!!

We have less than 50 days till she gets here! Oh my, there is so much to still do.

Traditions

I am definitely a girl with traditions. At Christmas this is very apparent. One of my favorite traditions started when I was about 8 or 9. My dad takes my sister and I out shopping every year for my mom's gifts. We go out to eat first, then we head to the mall or wherever in search of the perfect gift. One year, for their 17th anniversary, he got her 17 gifts! He let Dani and I pick a few to get her. She got some crazy stuff that year!

Ice, Ice, Baby!

Last night Tim, Robbie, Melissa and I went to ICE at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine. Tim and I have always said that we wanted to do this, but never got the opportunity. Robbie and Melissa had never done it either, so we decided it would be something neat to do.

First, we ate at my favorite restaurant, P.F. Changs. This pregnant girl was grubbin! I could eat those lettuce wraps once a day.

I had no clue what this was going to be about, I had only heard about it, but never met anyone who had actually gone through it. It was the neatest experience. We had such a great time. Everything in there was made of ice. We had to wear these huge heavy coats. They sure kept us warm though. They keep it 17 degrees in there, so we had to wear something. The only thing that got cold on me was my nose. We all had Rudolph noses by the time we came out. It is definitely worth it for you to go.

I had a little tumble while there. The 4 of us decided we wanted to get our picture taken on the ice Santa's lap, and after they took our picture, I tripped going down the stairs and hit my knee hard on the railing. No worries though, the baby is still good. I just have a huge bruise on my knee. My balance is not what it used to be!

What the heck is a jicama?

32 weeks!
I have no clue what a jicama is. Obviously no grocery store did either, because I searched far and wide for one, but Babycenter says this is about how much she weighs.

We still have a girl! Tim and I had our 4d sonogram on Wednesday, and the first thing I asked her to do was make sure she was still a girl. So, no exchanging! I cannot wait to show you the pictures. I have to wait till after Christmas, because we are giving mine and Tim's mom a picture for Christmas. It was such a neat experience. Tim got to watch the whole thing on a big screen tv. The tech said she has chubby cheeks and big lips. Tim said that would definitely be a combination of the both of us! It makes me want to meet her now! I cannot wait to compare these pictures to the real thing.

We have 8 weeks left. I know these will go by so fast. We have so much planned in the next 8 weeks. Christmas, New Years, 2 more showers and much more.

What is your elf name?

Your Elf Name Is: Pixie Sweet Cheeks

Son of a nutcracker!

Orange you glad you asked?

31 weeks!
Lil miss is the size of 4 navel oranges.

Lots going on this week. I have been battling the worst cold, and I cannot take hardly anything for it. Pre-baby, I would of been doped up, but now I just have to suffer through it.

My weekly email says that my lungs are being pushed up into my throat practically, so that would explain why I get winded walking up our stairs! My mom called me the other day when I was at the grocery store and asked me if I was taking a walk! I told her no, I just sounded like I'm running a marathon!

We have a busy busy weekend. Friday is my work Christmas party, Saturday mom, Dani and I are doing a Christmas sitting at the Gaylord and Sunday is Grammy's birthday and our church's Christmas Pageant.

Giving Thanks

Wow, what a holiday! We were so busy, I barely had time to enjoy my 5 days off!!!

On Wednesday, I spent the day with my mom. We went to lunch at El Fenix and then did some shopping. Well, we actually did some window shopping. We went to Southlake Town Square. This is one of my favorite places to shop. It was good to just spend some time with my mom by herself. On Wednesday night, we did something that we do every year. Tim's birthday is 4 days before Christmas, and Bobby's birthday is 4 days after Christmas, so a couple of years ago, my parents decided that it wasn't fair for them to get their gifts all at once, so we started taking them out 1 month before their birthdays. It always falls around Thanksgiving, so since everyone is off, we do it the Wednesday night before. It was Tim's turn to pick the place this year, so he of course picked Dave and Busters. This is what he always picks! My husband is just a big kid at heart.

On Thursday I woke up to this

and this

We did lunch with my dad's family at my Grammy's house. It was such a huge spread. Then, Tim and I had to dash to drive to Commerce to his aunts house. We ate till we were full there as well. Tim and I could barely move on the way home! Being pregnant has made my stomach smaller, but you wouldn't know it by the size of my plates!

On Friday, I spent the morning in bed with a nasty head cold. By the time Tim came home from his half day at work, I was going stir crazy. We decided to start putting up our Christmas decorations. This is one of my favorite things to do this time of year. Tim lets me play Christmas music and be in my element. Then on Friday night, I got to get a prenatal massage! OH MY GOODNESS! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have asked for another one for Christmas.

On Saturday we continued Thanksgiving with my moms family. Tim and I did some early morning shopping, then went to my parents to cook. We ate till we were full again!

Sunday, we had a relaxing day of church, finishing decorating our house and dinner with Tim's family.

Such a great Holiday weekend. Now, it is time to focus on my favorite holiday of the year!
24 more days!

30 Weeks!!!

This week lil miss weighs as much as a head of cabbage. Oh my goodness. We have less than 70 days till she gets here. I am both scared and elated at the same time. All these thoughts keep running through my mind.

Will I be a good mother?
How will I really know when I am in labor?
Will she have dark hair and skin like Tim, or be fair and blonde like me?

I know these are typical thoughts that every woman goes through. I also know that no matter how many books you read it will never really prepare you enough.

I am registering Tim and I for the baby basics class. It just teaches you some basic stuff for first time parents and you can take a tour of the labor and delivery section of the hospital. This is going to make it real for me. Actually seeing where I will be giving birth.

I am also going to schedule a 3d sonogram in the next couple of weeks. I cannot wait to see her face. I am also going to make sure we get a good shot of the, well let's just say I'm going to make sure she is still a girl! I have heard so many horror stories. Don't get me wrong, I would love a little boy, it would just mean a lot of returns and exchanges!!!

Freedom. The freedom to celebrate a holiday like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am so thankful for the men and women overseas who are defending our country right now. I honestly think I take for granted the freedom that living in this country gives us.

#2

I am so thankful for Tim. I cannot imagine my life without him. He does so much for me, I don't have enough room to write it all. God definitely knew what he was doing when he matched us together. I love that I can lean on him for everything, and he will always take care of me.

#3

My Faith. I grew up going to church with my parents and I have always enjoyed going. When Tim and I started dating, I started going to Plymouth Park with him. I enjoy working with the youth with my husband and our friends. I am going to make it a point to make sure my daughter enjoys church as much as I do.

Thankful

This year for Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for. Tim and I have had a year of ups and downs, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I decided to do something we used to do in school. Make a list of things I am thankful for.

Mine and Tim's family means the world to us. I cannot imagine our lives without these people.

What a Weekend!

This weekend wore me out. Being pregnant sure makes me more exhausted than normal. We had 11 girls at my house this weekend, 13 if you include the two leaders. We had a blast! I think Tim had more fun than I did. He is going to make such a great girl dad. We had a great speaker this year. He also led our camp this past summer, so the kids know him really well.

The best part of the weekend for me was the band. They were awesome. I bought both of their cd's. I just really like their style. The lil miss does too, she was doing cartwheels in there while they were performing!

We had a great experience this weekend. On Saturday, we were able to do our mission project. We went to some run down apartments, and pulled all the kids out and played games with them. They had a blast! I really enjoyed this experience.

I did not get a chance to take many pictures this weekend. Here are just a few.

This is my husband attempting to ride one of the kids bikes!

This is our group that stayed at our house. We had such a blast with them.

Butternut Squash

29 Weeks! Can I just say that I look huge!!!

Not much going on this week. We are slowly getting the nursery put together. We got the rocker and ottoman in yesterday, but there is nowhere to put it after all the stuff from the shower! I am slowly trying to organize my thoughts and get all this stuff put away. My next shower isn't until after Christmas, so I may just put it off till then.

This weekend we have 8-10 Freshman girls staying at our house. Our church has a weekend retreat known as Reality. I told Tim to get ready, not too long from now we will be having these kind of sleepovers regularly!!! I am looking forward to hosting these girls. I had them all in Sunday School last year and have kept in touch with them throughout this year. I'll make sure to post some pictures from the weekend.

Showered with Love

Saturday was a great day. I had my first baby shower. As I walked into Mimi's, I couldn't believe what I saw. There were balloons, a cake, food, cute hurricane glasses filled with pink and brown goodies and presents galore. I was so overwhelmed, but in a good way. Tim and I received so many nice things, I don't know where to begin. We got both our strollers, convertible car seat, boppy, bumbo, clothes, clothes and more clothes! I got my bedding from my mom, and I had two people bring me homemade blankets. I can't wait to snuggle with her with them. Here is just a glimpse into what the shower looked like.

These were just two of the blankets that were made for me

I spent all day Sunday organizing and trying to wrap my brain around where all this will go. It is so hard to believe in 80 days or less she will be here to enjoy all of this stuff. I can't wait!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It's that time of year! Every year, Shay and I patiently wait for 103.7 to start playing Christmas music, and then we scream with excitement when they start. As I got into my car on this Monday morning (can I just say, I hate Mondays!) I turned it to 103.7, and whatdaya know, it was Christmas music. I could hardly contain myself!!! I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but oh well. This music puts me in the mood for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

What the Heck?

As I stated in my 8 things post, Lipstick Jungle is one of my new favorite shows. So, you can understand my pain when I saw this: NBC Axes Lipstick Jungle. It's true. Just when I start getting into a new show, they cancel it on me. Now where will I get my weekly fashion advice from? It's the main reason I watch the show anyways. You'll be happy to know that I also heard they might be replacing it with Friday Night Lights, which happens to be one of Tim's favorite shows. Yea for him! (Can you sense the sarcasm in my voice?)

28 Weeks...

Well, it's here!
I'm in my 3rd trimester!
Our girl is the size of a chinese cabbage this week.

I have enjoyed being pregnant thus far, but this week it started becoming painful (literally). Back when I had my cold last month, I must of coughed too hard and I hurt my ribs. I explained this to my doctor, but unfortunately she gave me the ol Tylenol, warm bath and heating pad remedy. So, I will be trying these things. It doesn't help that a little itty bitty foot jabs it every once in a while either!!!

Tim and I started our Christmas shopping this week. This is my favorite time of the year. I love going to the mall and hearing the Christmas music and drinking my hot chocolate from Starbucks(coincidentally, it is also one of my cravings!) I have my list made and I have checked it twice. The only problem is, after about two hours of this bliss, the pregnancy back pain sets in, and I must take a breather on the nearest bench that will have me!

My first shower is this weekend, and I am so excited. I will hopefully get to see some people I have not seen in a while. I am so excited too, because my mom is giving me my bedding at the shower. I can finally start putting this nursery together! Be looking for lots of pictures from this weekend.
