Our great weekend!

This weekend was a great one!

Friday night, we had our church’s annual Dine by Design.  I started going to this a couple of years ago with Hilary, and this year I decided to decorate my own table!  It was so fun.  You pick a theme and then decorate a table with that theme.  There were some really cute tables this year.

I went with a picnic table theme.

I made these really big ants from plastic spoons.

And tied cute ladybug ribbon onto mason jars.

I invited my mom, Grammy and sister to sit at my table and we had so much fun!

I also had my girl Kari at our table.

Hilary had her own table and it was adorable!  She went with a Frozen theme.

I am so grateful to be at this church with such wonderful Godly women.

About a month ago, I told Tim I thought it would be fun to throw his mom a surprise Birthday party.  She turned 60 this year and I wanted to do something special for her.  She’s always going above and beyond for everyone else so I wanted to do something nice for her.  Tim, his sister and I did good, because we kept it a surprise.  We went to our favorite place, Joe T. Garcia’s.  It was the perfect night for it too.

Here she is, discovering it’s not just us meeting them for dinner!

I am so grateful for Debbie.  She treats me just like a daughter.  I couldn’t ask for a better mother in law!

We ordered her the cutest cake.  She loves to play the slots, so I thought it was appropriate to get her a cake with a slot machine on it!

My girl and her favorite cousin, Reed!

My sweet baby boy!

Hayden fell asleep on Ninny halfway through dinner!

Hayden loves his Bumpa!

I could not have pulled this off without my sweet hubby!  He helped every part of the way and made sure everyone was having a good time at the party.  Here he is with his dad and cousin Marc.

It was great party and everyone had a blast!

Sunday, my parents made the decision to join our church!  They’ve been visiting for over a year, so it was about time they joined!  I’m so lucky to be able to go to church with my parents again.  I grew up going to the same church as my grandparents and they were such a great influence on Dani and I, and my kids are going to be so lucky to have the same advantage we had.

Overall, we had such a great weekend!

Easter weekend

This weekend was great!

We celebrated Easter Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday we went to Tim’s parents’ house to hunt for eggs and have a yummy dinner.  Landry really got into hunting eggs this year.  She would have hunted all day if we had let her.

Then we came in and Tim’s parents gave them their Easter baskets

Me and my sweet boy

Tim’s grandma got to come and eat dinner and hang out too.  We love getting to see her!

Then, Saturday night we came home and gave both kids a bath and put the sponge rollers in Landry’s hair.  Here she is, ready for Easter!

Here are their baskets just waiting to be dug in to

After baskets, we got all dressed up and headed out the door for church

After church we met my family for lunch

After that we went back to Dani and Bobby's house where she opened her basket from my parents

Then we ate dessert and hunted for some more eggs!

Easter is such a fun holiday to me.  I love getting dressed up and going to church on Easter morning and singing and hearing a great lesson and getting to see all our friends and then spending time with my family.  But, the main reason I love Easter is knowing that I get to do all of this because Jesus died on that cross for me and that makes me a very lucky girl!

Plus, Jesus gave me this wonderful family to spend my time with.

Our fun filled weekend!

This weekend was so fun!

We spent the majority of it outside, that is until it rained yesterday, and then we remained indoors for the remainder of our Sunday.

Saturday morning, mom, Landry and I set out for Southlake.  There were some neighborhood garage sales and it was the perfect day to go!  I love spending time with my mom and daughter.  Three generations of crazy in this picture!

Then, Saturday night we headed to our favorite outdoor place, Joe T. Garcia’s!  We love eating here, especially if the weather is as nice as it was Saturday.

Sunday morning, I let the kids take a bath together.  Hayden has outgrown his baby tub, but isn’t quite stable enough to sit in the tub alone, so we put the bath seat in.  They loved it!  I think they could have stayed in there all day if I had let them.

Me and my baby boy all ready to get our worship on!

Reason 8, 467 why I love Landry Kate.  As I opened my grocery notepad, I found this:

We find her name everywhere.  I love it though!

Last night we headed over to Tim’s parent’s house to eat and hang out.  Landry wanted to dye Easter eggs.

While she did that, brother did this:

Growing up, I wore sponge rollers almost every Saturday night, that way my hair would be curly for church on Sundays.  So last night, I initiated Landry and she wore sponge rollers for the first time to bed.

The before:

The after:

Goodness, I’m glad she got the good hair gene.  I’m so envious of her bouncy curls.  She loved it, and now come Saturday night before Easter, I know what we will be wearing in our hair!

Such a wonderful weekend with my people!
