Easter 2016

Here we are, another Monday.

This weekend was so fun I didn't want to get up when my alarm went off this morning.

We had such a great Easter weekend. It was beautiful here this weekend so we spent a lot of time outside.

On Friday we went to my parents house and played putt putt. Landry earned an activity and she picked this. I haven't played this game in so long. It was so fun though. Even Hayden got in on the action!

After putt putt Landry got on the go carts

On Saturday we went to a friends neighborhood in Southlake for an Easter egg hunt and petting zoo. Both kids had such a good time.

On Sunday we got up really early to make the 8:30 worship service. I'm so glad we did though. Although getting up early might have been a small factor in the next pictures. Hayden was not having family pictures. He just wasn't in the mood. I've figured out that when kids don't want their pictures made, they mean it!

So, here is our family pic this year.
At least 3/4 of us are happy :)

And the next one I'll be laughing at for the next twenty years :)

Haha. Omg. He just was not having his picture made. Lesson learned. But other than that we had a great Easter.

Remembering why we celebrate this day was something I was reminded of over the weekend. Landry had lots of questions about what Easter means and I loved explaining it to her. She's at such an impressionable age right now and absorbing everything around her. Telling her that Jesus died on that cross for us and rose again three days later just made me so appreciative to be a Christian. That he did it all for my sins and that he did it for hers too. I love that she's starting to have questions about this.

Happy Easter!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Today, Landry is out of school and we have some fun things planned for our three day weekend.

Today, I'm linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci for my favorite pictures lately.

Choo Choo...
A few weekends ago we met up with Dani and Brody and my parents at a local mall and had lunch and shopped a bit. The kids wanted to ride a train and Brody was too young so Dani rode with him. I just love seeing his cute face and both my kids are obsessed with him!

A beautiful day...
Last week the weather was so pretty outside so we spent most of the week outside. This girl of mine is really into hugging lately and I'm not complaining!

My boy and his pink car...
Hayden gets all of Landry's old toys and he has no clue that some of them are pink. He doesn't care. I just love this little man of mine. And the way he puts his hand behind his back when he stands.

Yummy yogurt...
Last week on spring break we tried to do fun things with Landry and we all love frozen yogurt so we headed to our favorite place.

Sweet treat...
Ever since her birthday party, Landry has been asking to make Rice Krispie treats again. I thought it would be fun to add in fruity pebbles as well. The only spring cookie cutter I had was a butterfly and we love our butterfly's around here. They turned out super cute and yummy!

True that...
I saw this on someone else's Instagram last week and laughed out loud in the car. When I read it to Tim he said yes, very true. I know you other moms can relate.

Make new friends but keep the old...
On Monday, one of my oldest and dearest friends Shay, had her cookbook signing at my good friends store. In case you live under a rock, Shay wrote two cookbooks with more on the way. I could not be more proud of this girl. She is such a high achiever and always has been from the day I met her. I can't believe it's almost been 20 years that we've been friends. #imonly21right?

Mini Picassos...
I found these cardboard cutouts at Target a few weeks back and the kids loved them. We painted them Tuesday afternoon and dyed eggs.

The best lunch date...
I went to the mall Wednesday to get all our last minute Easter clothes and Hayden and I ate lunch in the food court. I love my little lunch date. He's pretty much like having a meal with Tim. I talk the whole time while he stares at me and eats.

It's Easter weekend! We have egg hunts planned but more than that we celebrate the real reason for Easter. Christ is risen!

Weekend in Austin

On Friday our Smith four headed to Austin for the weekend. Tims cousin and his wife and son have lived there for a while and we usually only see them at the holidays so we thought it would be fun to go visit them.

Loaded up and ready for our short road trip

One hour into the road trip...
#justliketheirmama

On Saturday morning we are breakfast and then Cindy and I headed to yoga. After we got back the kids did this for a while.

On Saturday afternoon we headed to the aquarium. It was a great aquarium. You could pretty much feed all the fish. Landry loved that.

They had this great playset at the end and it was like pulling teeth to get them to leave.

After we got back all three kids had slept in the car so they were ready to play some more. Except this boy. He just wanted to watch Chuggington and chill in my lap

Chase had some great toys that my kids both loved

We went to bed pretty early because we were so tired!

Sunday we headed home after getting our Round Rock donut fix.

It was such a great weekend. So nice to just get away for a few days.

Spring break 2016

Well it's Monday again. Getting back into a routine this morning was rough!

We had such a good week last week.

I specifically planned something fun each day so that Landry didn't get bored. She loved it.

Today I'm going to cover Monday- Thursday then tomorrow I'll talk about our weekend in Austin.

As I was researching things to do while Landry was out of school I came across visiting a fire station. I have a friend I've known since junior high that is a fireman in Irving. He of course agreed to let us come up there and tour the station and see the trucks. It was such a good idea. Both kids loved it. Hayden is obsessed with fire trucks right now. He knows how to spot them. So needless to say he was enamored.

On Tuesday we decided to use our season passes and head to Six Flags. We picked a great day to go. We got there right when it opened and it wasn't too hot yet. Both kids rode all their favorite rides then after lunch we were done and headed out.

Tuesday night Tim went to the Stars game with his work so we headed to my parents house to eat dinner and spend the night. Of course we had to get ice cream!

On Wednesday I took the kids to get their hair cut at Tims uncles shop.

After we were done there we had a picnic in the park and played for a while. One of Landry's friends and his family came too!

On Thursday we went with those same friends to the Dallas zoo. I have not been to this zoo in a long time. It was so kid friendly. Both kids had such a good time.

Hayden loved brushing the goats in the petting zoo.

All the kids got a pony ride too. Mine are now asking for a pony. #asksanta

We rode the train

And fed the giraffes!

And rode the carousel

Our week was so fun!

Landry cried last night when I told her she had to go back to school. Not to worry kiddo, summer is just a few short months away!!!
