Shoutout to Landry's Dad

Happy Father's Day to all you fathers! We had a great, but busy weekend. On Saturday, we spent the day with my dad. We swam all afternoon, and I have a nice burn to show for it. After swimming we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Buca Di Beppo! Then we walked around the Southlake Town Square. On Sunday, we spent the day with Tim's dad. We swam some more and had some good BBQ! Here is the evidence of our fun weekend.

This is evidence of my wacky mom and husband. I attempted to get a cute pic of my husband and I, and when I looked at the picture, this is what I saw!

Here is me and my daddy

I just want to say a few words to my husband. Thank you for being such a good daddy to Landry. She is so lucky to have you. I can't wait to see the relationship that will build between the two of you in the years to come. We love you!

A Reunion of the Family

This weekend we went to my Grammy's family reunion. This was a fun experience for Landry. She is such a people watcher. The mall is her Disney World, that is until she gets to go the the real thing in August!!! She watched every person that came in and of course each person stopped to talk to her. She was the youngest person there. When I was born 27 (almost 28) years ago, the family was a lot smaller and we counted all the family, and I was the 100th Butler to be born. Every reunion I go to, I am reminded of that fact. Landry was the star this year. My glory days are over!

Here are my girl and I ready to go!

The Graduate

On Friday Landry, my mom, my dad, Dani and I all went to Abilene to see my oldest cousin Chase graduate. I cannot believe he is this old! It seems like yesterday that my aunt wanted me to come over to watch him while she went to the store. He was my first babysitting job.

Landry got to try out the big girl car seat for the first time

She also got to sit in a high chair for the first time

Here is Chase walking across the stage

Landry loves her cousin Chase, so she wore this shirt in support of him!

Rolly Polly

Well, it happened! On Sunday I put Landry down on the rug in the living room and walked away for a few seconds. Tim came into the room and I started talking to him and when I turned back around she was on her stomach! I said "Tim, come here, she just rolled over and I missed it". I went immediately to fetch my camera and proceeded to film her rolling over. Please excuse Angel walking in front of the camera. She gets so jealous when the spotlight is on Landry. Also, please excuse my screeching voice in the celebration of my child performing her new trick!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Today, we had a fun day at the zoo! We went with Shay, Kensington, Dani and her friend Amy. It was so nice when we got there, but towards the end it got really hot! It was so much fun, and we can't wait till the girls get older and they really appreciate all they are looking at!

We put the girls in their matching outfits!

Landry really wanted her first lick of the snow cone!

Here we are with our girls!

The girls were pooped by the end of the day!

2 Pink Lines One Year Later

This day last year I woke up with a feeling that I might be pregnant. I had no clue what to expect, I just knew in my mind that I was. We had miscarried 2 short months earlier, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. God did though. He knew Landry was growing in my belly and that she was going to be the love of our life! That is the great thing about God, he not only knows when the bad stuff is going to happen, but he knows the good stuff that is going to come out of it. I love you, Landry Kate!

My 4 Month Check-up

Today we took Landry to her 4 month check-up! She weighed 16 lbs. (97th percentile), was 25 in.(75th percentile) and her head was 40 cms.(50th percentile). Dr. Olivo says all looks good! She also said that we can start her on foods whenever we like. I am so ready for this. I have felt for a few weeks that Landry is not satisfied with just her milk. I am anxious to see how she reacts to the food. She also had to get more shots :( The good thing about babies is they forget they had the shot 1 minute later and all is fine again!

4 Months Old

My baby turns 4 months old today! We have had so much fun with her this month. She has definitely changed a lot. Here are the 5 things I am noticing now:

1. She is teething! She drools constantly, wants moms finger all the time and she has not been sleeping as well as she was. I haven't spotted anything yet, but I have a feeling within the next month a little white tooth might be sprouting!

2. She sleeps all through the night! Her first night to sleep through the night was the night before Mothers Day. It was her gift to me. She sleeps usually around 10 hours. Lately, as I stated above, it gets interrupted, but if you just pat her she will go back to sleep.

3. We are soooo close to rolling over. She can make it to her side and is almost over that hump, but not yet. She has also started sleeping on her side. It is so cute!

4. She grins from ear to ear. She has the biggest smile. I have yet to capture a good one on film. Every time that camera beeps on, she just looks at me. I need to figure out a way to get her to smile for the camera.

5. She loves to look in the mirror. She doesn't know who that cute little girl is, but she loves her. If she is upset or crying, I will put her in front of the mirror and she will be in a good mood almost immediately.

I just love having this little girl in our lives. She always knows how to put me in a good mood. I can't wait to see what's in store for us this next month!

My Baby's Room

I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and join Shay in the "Show Us Where You Live Tour"! So, for this week, we are going to have the dweller of this room show you around.

Hello, my name is Landry Kate, and this is where I live!

Here is where I sleep every night. My mom wanted to do a simple theme in my room and I love the brightness of this pink. That is also my lamb that mom must remember to take out when I go in, or else that lamb would be covered in drool!

Here is my name above my crib. I will hopefully be able to use these in my big girl room as well.

Here is my toy box. My mom found this cute basket and put some ribbon on it and voila, a toy box! The doll in front of it was my moms from when she was a little girl.

This is my chair where I sit each month to take my monthly pics. The lamb in it was given to me by my Mimi and pop.

This is where my mom rocks me every night. We say our prayers in this chair and we sing songs in this chair, and I get my nightly bottle in this chair. This is my moms favorite time of the day with me.

This is my changing table that I am now trying to squirm off each night. It is getting harder for my mom to keep me on here. The baskets hold my diapers, my medicine, my socks and my shoes.

These are the pictures of my mom and dad when I was in moms belly taken by my mom's friend Hilary. The sign was made for me. My mom loved that saying and my Mimi had it ordered for me.

This is my bookshelf. My mom loves this piece because everyone in my life gave me something to put on it. My great grandma gave me the frame, my mom's best friend Shay gave me the sign with my name on it, my Pop gave me the dragon and the book to go with it, my Mimi gave me the piggy bank, my aunt Stephie gave me the monkey and my grandma gave me the Precious Moments doll.

My Aunt Dani made this for me. She loves me soooo much!

And, because no girls room would be complete without the closet-tada! All my clothes. My mom loves dressing me up.

That about wraps it up. Thanks for coming in and seeing my room.

Landry's Dedication Weekend

We had a great weekend! I'm going to highlight some of the fun things we did.

Friday- I had the day off, so Landry and I hung out with my parents all day. My mom and I really wanted to see this movie:
It was FANTASTIC!!! I highly recommend you go and see it. If you have kids, take them. My mom and I cried twice. It is one of the most endearing movies I have seen in a while. Then, Friday night, Tim came out and met us for dinner where he proceeded to ruin his outfit (Yes, I know boys don't wear outfits, but for lack of better words, we will say outfit). As we were just starting to eat our food, a man and his son were throwing the football by our table (we were at an establishment where there is a sand volleyball court and you can play ball), and the man proceeded to not catch the football and my grandfathers glass of wine spilled all over Tim's shirt, shorts and new tennis shoes! A red glass of wine, no doubt! Luckily it was my even keel husband who never lets anything get to him, because if it had been me, the man's head would of been chewed off and we would of left right then and there. Not all is lost though, my dad cleaned it with his magical potion of Oxyclean and it came right out.

Saturday- We got our hair done and then went strawberry pickin with Melissa, Austin and 3 of the girls from our youth group. I was late so I didn't get to pick anything, but will definitely be going back this summer. You just grab a cute basket and start pickin! It looked like so much fun, but with a 4 month old in a stroller, it was kind of hard. Next time, I will drag Tim or just not take her. But we did get some cute pics of Landry and Austin sportin their sunglasses!

Sunday- We had Landry dedicated to the Lord at our church! She did such a good job up on stage. I was worried a little during the prayer, she started to get a little antsy, but turned out to just be gas! Wouldn't you know it. We headed back to our house afterwards and had a little celebration with our close friends and family. All of Landry's best buds were there! My dad and Tim"s dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. They were delicious. Here are some pics from the dedication.
