Let's Skate!

For Landry's 5th birthday, I wanted to do something fun and special. We went through about 3-4 different types of parties and came across skating. She had never tried skating before, but we thought it would be fun. We took her last week to show her the place and she loved it. Yeah! Pleasing this 5 year old these days is not easy, so I was happy she was excited.

Here's my birthday girl ready for her party. One of my BFF's embroiders clothes and made Landry this shirt.

Way back when we were buying Christmas presents, Tim and I saw this outfit for the elf on a shelf and knew Landry would love it, so choo choo got to dress up and come to the party!

Little brother can't skate just yet, but he loved sitting in the wall watching everything.

At first she was nervous about skating, but once mama showed her how to do it, she loved it!

All her friends loved it to! Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I think the adults had more fun than the kids though!
Cake Time!
The party was such a success! I'm so glad we decided to go with the skating theme.

After the party, the family came back to our house so Landry could open presents.
She got some great stuff!

One more day and my baby will be 5!!!

Hayden's Baby Dedication

On Sunday, we dedicated Hayden to The Lord. As a parent there is nothing greater than dedicating your child to God. My hope is that Hayden will grow up with Godly friends and family surrounding him.
After church the entire family headed to eat lunch.

Hayden is 3 Months Old!

On Saturday, Hayden turned 3 Months old.

I thought after I had Landry, my time flew by, but having

another child makes it feel like a roller coaster!

The number one question I get about Hayden is

“Is he a good baby?”

Without a doubt, my answer is always yes.

He is the best baby!

He’s so laidback and easy going.

If Landry is my mini me, then he is definitely Tim’s.

She was always crazy and loud, and he’s the complete opposite.

He tends to take a backseat to his sister, but he doesn’t care.

Unless… he needs to eat!

If he’s hungry, drop what you’re doing and make him a bottle stat.

Sleep: He is sleeping about 10 hours a night.

He goes to bed every night at 9, and wakes up promptly at 7.

With me going back to work last week, this is perfect.

As far as naps go, he still takes about three a day.

On the weekends for me, he takes a morning one, after lunch and one at dinner time.

At daycare, he has been adjusting.

He’s getting used to all the babies around him, so he isn’t sleeping well at all.

That makes for a very tired baby at night.

He can usually sleep anywhere.

I was holding him the other day at a birthday party,

and there were kids everywhere screaming and he

just fell asleep.

Play: He got an activity mat for Christmas from my aunt and uncle

and he loves it!  At night when he gets home and I’m cooking dinner,

he lays on it and it keeps him entertained.

We also started putting him in the bumbo.

At first, he wasn’t crazy about it, but now he loves it.

The other night, we put him in it and put him in his spot at the

dinner table and it made me laugh all through dinner.

My Grammy and Granddaddy got him this activity cube for Christmas

and he loves it too!

Eat: This boy is an eater!

He is eating 6 bottles a day with 6 oz. of formula.

We eat every 3 hours and on that 3 hour mark,

he will let you know it is time to eat!

We had to change his formula this month to the sensitive

one, because he was spitting up after every feeding.

Poor thing, I felt bad.

I think he has a really sensitive stomach.

Changing the formula seemed to help though.

Oh my goodness, I love this little boy!

He makes me smile every time I look at him.

I just thank God for blessing our family with him.

He makes our little family complete!

Love you Hayden Timothy!

Hayden is 2 Months Old!

Today, Hayden turns 2 months old.  He has definitely done a lot of growing this month.  He went to his well check today and weighed 13 pounds, 12 ounces and was 24 inches long.

Here are just a few of the things Hayden has experienced this past month.

I went on a girls retreat with my best friends and Hayden got to go!  He did so well and slept pretty well in the hotel room.

We went with my parents to Galveston and Hayden got to see the beach for the first time.  It was so cold, so going on the water was impossible, but we still had fun!

He celebrated his first Thanksgiving!

We went to the La Cima club with my parents for a nice dinner, and he pretty much slept the whole time!

He discovered his love for smiling, and I must say is adorable when he does it!

Eat:He is eating 5 ounces every 3 hours during the day, and gets 6 ounces at night and in the morning.  He is still a really good eater.  He will let you know when he is hungry though!

Play:He loves to play!  His favorite activities to do right now are sit in his bouncer and watch baby sprout.

We are also working on lots of tummy time.

Sleep: He is a champ at sleeping!  He is sleeping through the night now!  Music to this mamma's ears.  He goes to bed around 8:00 and will sleep till at least 7:00.  He is taking two good naps a day and maybe one little cat nap also.  I really lucked out with his sleeping habits.

Hayden Timothy, we love you more than you know.  You are such a light in our lives, and I don't remember what life was even like before you joined our family.  We love you sweet boy!

Hayden is 1 Month Old!

Today our little man turns one month old. I can't believe he has been in our lives for one whole month already. Time really does fly. Here are just a few things he has done in his first month of life.

He was loved on a lot by his big sister

He came home from the hospital and met Angel

He went to his first restaurant at just a week old

He went to the State Fair of Texas

He went to the mall shopping

He had his first bath (which he hated at first, but loves now!)

He went to the library and slept through the whole thing!

He celebrated his first Halloween

Our lil pumpkin

Eats: Hayden is eating 4 ounces about every 3-4 hours.  From day 1, Hayden has been a good eater.  He is usually telling me when it's time to eat!  When he was born, he was eating about 2 ounces every three hours, then at about 2 weeks we went to three ounces, and then at three weeks he graduated up to four ounces.  I can tell we are about to move up again.

Sleeps: He is sleeping very good!  At night, he will go about 5 hours, eat then sleep another 4 hours.  Not bad.  His big sister was just as good a sleeper, and still is!  During the day is another story!  He takes a really good morning nap, but in the afternoon, he does not want to be in his crib.  He just wants to be held.  Right now, I'm loving it.  It has been great for me because Landry is resting so it's been really good one on one bonding time with Hayden.

Play: For now, he doesn't really play much.  We inherited a Mamaroo, which has been our saving grace.  He loves it.  He will sit in there really good and just take in his surroundings.  It's the perfect machine also when we are eating dinner and need him to go somewhere.  We started tummy time today, and surprisingly, he liked it.  But it helps when you have a four year old sister entertaining you and dancing around you to watch!

We love you little man!

Welcome to the World Hayden!

On October 11, we welcomed our little man into the world.
But, let me start at the beginning of the day.
That morning at 6:30, we checked into the hospital.
My doctor broke my water right at 7:00 AM.
Then the wonderful epidural came and I proceeded to labor for the
next 12 hours!  This baby boy was not wanting to come!
Finally, around 8:00 PM my doctor checked me and discovered that my
body was not dilating anymore and that we would need to do a c section.
A c section was not what I had prepared for, but you do what you have to
do to get your baby out safely.
Within a matter of 20 minutes, I was prepped and ready to go.
Then, they put Tim in scrubs and we were ready to meet our baby.
And at 8:38 PM, we did just that!
I was instantly in love.
In a matter of seconds I fell in love with him.
After we had a few minutes with him to ourselves, we were ready
for Landry to finally meet her baby brother!
Seeing her see him for the first time is unexplainable.
She had been talking about him for so long and was so excited!
After Landry got some time with him, the whole family got to
come back to recovery and meet him.

But, by far, my favorite picture of the night is this one.
These three people mean more to me than anything.
I am so lucky to have them be my family.
God is good!
