Six Flags and Pajama Day

Last week, my family went to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags. We try to do this every year and this year we invited my cousins and Aunt Karen to come. This was Landry's first time to go and she loved it.
She got to ride the train in the kiddie park. She kept honking the horn like she was really driving.

After that, we saw Sylvester and we just knew she would love him, but she did not! She clung to me for dear life as you can see in these pictures.

We had such a fun time with Aunt Dani and Mimi

This is how she looked after the day was over!

As long as I can remember we have worn our pajamas all day on New Years Day. We love it. We don't go out, we just order food in and veg out all day.
My mom got Landry some new pajamas for the occasion.

Dani and I have been taking this same picture for at least 10 years. We have added a dog here and there and this year we added Landry in!

So far 2010 is looking good. We have so much to be thankful for and are so excited for the many things that are happening this year.

11 Months Old

(side note: Landry was not in the mood to take these pictures today, so this is the best we got!)
Oh my goodness, it is so hard to believe that one month from today our baby will be a year old! I have been really emotional lately when it comes to Landry, and have really been clingy to her and just wanting to kiss her big cheeks and love all over her. Here are some of the things we are doing this month.
1. We are thisclose to walking! She took 4 steps the other day and every time we think she is going to just take off, she plops right down on the floor. We hold our breaths every time she goes so as to not spook her!
2. She has always been a mommas girl, but these last few weeks she is starting to branch out and want to go to other people. It has been really nice. She still makes sure momma is always within reach, but it is nice for her to let other family members love on her too.
3. She has gotten really shy. My child definitely has my personality in that she never met a stranger, but lately she will bury her head in my shoulder and look away when someone tries to talk to her.
4. It has become impossible to change her diaper. The moment the dirty one comes off she rolls over and is gone! This makes it really hard when it is just me changing it or if I'm at a restaurant on those little tables they give you to change a baby on. Side note: have you ever noticed that they always put them right by the door? I was in one the other day changing her, and got hit in the bottom two times by the opening of a door. Anyways, it takes two people these days to change her successfully.
5. Everything and everyone is da-da. It is the only thing she will say right now. We are trying to teach her other words and she will repeat them, but then goes right back to da-da. If you show her a picture, and it is not Tim she will still point and say da-da!
I love you Landry Kate and I am so anxious and sad for the next month to go by.

Our 2009 in Review

This year has been one of the greatest of my life! I have experienced so many new things and have been blessed beyond measure. Here is a look back at just some of the things that happened...

January- we were blessed with not one, but two more showers! This seems like so long ago.

February- our daughter came into this world. Landry Kate Smith blessed our lives more than we ever thought she would.

March-we took Landry to the beach for the first time

April-Landry had her first Easter and got to wear her first Easter dress

May-We dedicated Landry to the Lord. This was so important to Tim and I. We really want to set a good standard in our home for Landry.

June-We went on our first of many zoo trips with the Shull girls

July-I turned 28 and got to celebrate it with my wonderful family

August-We went with my family to Disneyworld and had such a good time!

September-we soaked up the sun and spent a lot of time outside

October- We dressed Landry up like a flower and spent her first Halloween at the trunk or treat

November- We gave Landry her first bite of turkey and she loved it.

December- Landry's First Christmas! We had lots of fun this month showing Landry lights on houses, getting her first taste at opening presents and realizing what this season is all about.

We can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for us!

White Christmas

Christmas has come and gone. We had a white Christmas this year! In Texas! We had so much fun with Landry this year. She got so many good things, it's hard to believe. Tim and I are lucky enough to still do Christmas with both sides of both of our families. That is a lot of Christmasing!

Christmas morning we woke up to snow in our backyard and couldn't resist bundling up Landry and taking her out in it.

After that, we did our family Christmas. Santa came and visited the Smith house and left Landry a few things.
