Let's Celebrate!

My girl sure knows how to P-A-R-T-Y!!! We were so blessed with family and friends who love her and love to celebrate with us. Thursday night, on her actual Birthday, we took her to Chuck E. Cheese's with my family and Tim's family. This was her first time to go, and she loved it! We all got to play a few games, and Landry's favorite thing to do was go up and down the slide. She did it at least a dozen times! Here are a few pictures that were captured that night.

So, these next set of pictures will probably only be funny to our families who actually witnessed what went down. I made cupcakes to bring and eat for dessert, and we gave Landry one and watched her eat it. She didn't just eat it, she devoured it! It was gone in like less than one minute. We were just all sitting there in amazement as this one year old inhaled this cupcake. We laughed the entire time because if you had seen her eyes roll to the back of her head, she was in heaven.

For her Birthday lunch we went on a Mommy Daughter date! I took her to Chick-Fil-A to get a kids meal and play in the play area. She loved watching all the big kids play. Since it was her Birthday, the manager brought her some ice cream, and you know how much she loves ice cream!

Saturday, we had the BIG party! We had 40 people in our house who were there to celebrate this little girl. We had such a good time. She got so many nice things and was loved on by so many family and friends. Here is just a glimpse into her First Birthday Party.
This is how the house was decorated and her Birthday outfit!

Just some of the family and friends that were there including 3 week old Smith Shull!

She wasn't quite sure what to do with the cake, so we just put her hand in it, and she just licked the icing. She finally got the hang of it and loved the cake!

Here she is opening her presents. She got so many new clothes and toys, more than she knows what to do with. She was not very interested in the opening, but more of the playing with the toy once it was out of the box!

Hilary made this really cute wooden flower for all the kids to put their head through and take a picture. It was really tall so the adults had to hold the kids up!

12 Months Old

Landry Kate- You have turned our world upside down for so many good reasons. We love you more and more with each passing day. This year with you has been the most amazing year of our lives so far. We cannot wait to see what the next year will hold. You are such a sweet little girl with the cutest personality. You are definitely a good combination of your daddy and I. We cannot believe that our baby is ONE today! I am so amazed at how fast this year has gone by. We love you baby doll and always will.

One Year Ago Today...

...this was me.

I had a doctors appointment that afternoon and I got to see the doctor I had secretly been wanting to deliver Landry. I still say it to this day that God had excellent timing that day. He knows our fears and our doubts and he knows how to subside them. I was told that my blood pressure was too high and that they were concerned it might start effecting Landry. She said that she was available the next day if we wanted to go ahead and induce me, and she would be the doctor that would deliver me. My fears went away just by her saying this. I talked with Tim and we decided this was as good a time as any to bring our baby into the world. I remember going home and making all my phone calls to let everyone know that we would be having her the next day and then Tim needed to go back to work to take care of a few things before he left for the week. I was by myself for the first time that day. All these thoughts started flooding my mind and all I could think about was seeing her face for the first time and I had a peace settle over me. I cooked dinner but I couldn't eat it. I was so nervous. We watched American Idol and then I took a bath to relax and then left for the hospital. I kissed Angel and told her that when we came home we would be bringing back her baby sister. We held hands the whole way knowing that when we came back to this house our lives would be forever changed. We settled into the room and I immediately fell in love with my nurse. She made me feel so at ease and gave me some medicine to help me sleep. I went to sleep knowing that when I woke up my day would go by so fast, so I prayed that I would remember all the tiny details.

Tomorrow will be a special day in the Smith house. We will have a ONE year old!
